No Show, Tardy and Did Not Finish

Previous   Top Next

When a Caregiver is late for a Shift or leaves early, you must adjust the schedule to reflect that. You could simply adjust the times on the Assigned Shift, but this would not capture as much information about what happened as you would like. Instead, let the system help you mark the Shifts as they really happened, as Tardy or Did Not Finish. Here is the Shift menu for an Assigned Shift, showing the utility shortcuts at the bottom.

No Show

If a Caregiver does not show up for a shift, simply mark it as No Show, from the Shift menu. Its not uncommon for a No Show shift to turn into a Tardy shift when the Caregiver finally makes it there (perhaps after a frantic call from you!).

Tardy

1.Click on the Assigned Shift
2.Select “Split and set Tardy (T)” in the menu.
3.Enter the time the Caregiver arrived.
4.You now have a Tardy shift up until the arrival time, and an Assigned shift from that point forward.

You may want to put a Comment on the Shift(s) in question, to note the circumstances around the change in schedule.

Did Not Finish

1.Click on the Assigned Shift
2.Select “Split and set Did Not Finish (DNF)” in the menu.
3.Enter the time the Caregiver left.
4.You now have an Assigned shift up until the departure time, and a Did Not Finish shift from that point forward.

You may want to put a Comment on the Shift(s) in question, to note the circumstances around the change in schedule.

Whenever you mark a shift Tardy or Did Not Finish, the part of the shift that the caregiver missed will automatically be set as Office Canceled on the client's schedule so that you don't have to adjust the client's schedule as well as the caregiver's.
