Splitting Shifts |
Making one long shift into two smaller ones is frequently helpful for getting a schedule to work out. You may need to assign two parts to two different Caregivers, or mark one part as Tardy or Did Not Finish and the rest as Assigned (the system gives you shortcuts for these latter two; see Tardy and Did Not Finish). Splitting a shift is simple:
Now there are two Shifts instead of one, with the second one starting at the split time you indicated. You can split any Shift that is not already Verified. Of course, if you need to split a Verified shift, just change it back to Assigned, split it, then Verify each of the resulting shifts. When you split a Tentatively Assigned shift, the corresponding Open Shift will also split, along with any other corresponding TA Shifts. Similarly, splitting a NoShow will split the corresponding Open shift, if there is one. If there is a Comment on a Shift and you split that Shift, the comment will show up on both of the resulting Shifts. This includes comments put on Open or TA Shifts. |
