The Skills feature of the Rosemark system allows you to apply configurable Skills and skill sets to both Caregivers (to indicate their capabilities) and to clients (to indicate their needs). The Skills feature is the foundation for two important tools: Skills Matching, and the Client's Care Plan. To use these tools, Skills must be properly configured first. Configuring Skills In order for Skills to be used, you have to configure the set of Skills that are appropriate for your agency. To do that, from the main Rosemark Scheduling System window, click on File, then Configuration, then Skills. This opens up the Skills Configuration form, which allows you to add, remove and rename Skills Categories, Subcategories and individual Skills. Note: be sure to add individual Skills, not just Categories!

By grouping skills in Categories, you can easily select a whole group of Skills when setting up the Skills for an individual Caregiver or Service. You can nest Categories by adding Subcategories to a selected Category. To add a new Category, click on the Add Category button. To add a new Subcategory, make sure the parent Category is selected, then click on the Add Subcategory button.
Figure 111: Adding a Skills Subcategory Adding a Skill To add a new Skill, just click on the Category you want to add it to and click the Add Skill button. An individual Skill must be within a Category, so you'll have to add the Category first, if it isn't already there. Each Skill and Category must have a unique name in the system.
As you add Skills, they are put at the bottom of the selected Category. You can change the order simply by dragging them around to where you want them. Click on the Skill and drag it up or down within the Category to change its position. This is very helpful in composing how your Care Plan looks. To re-classify Skills, drag them from one Category to another. You can also drag whole Categories around to re-order them. To make a Category a Subcategory of another, just drag it onto the target Category. To change a Subcategory to a top-level Category, drag it past the very end of the list (in the white space after the last item). |
