Copying a Time Pattern

Previous   Top Next

Sometimes it is helpful to be able to copy a Time Pattern. It may be one that is close to what you want, but needs some editing. It may be that the pattern of Shifts for a Client had changed, but was to return to the way it used to be. Copying Time Patterns can allow you to quickly and easily alter the future schedule of a Service.

To copy a Time Pattern, simply select it and hit the Add a Copy button on the Times for Service form. Specify the date that it starts, set the Status, and youre done. The default start date is the next week that hasnt been scheduled yet, but you can choose any date. If you choose a date that is already in use (but is otherwise OK to use) the Scheduling System will warn you that you are about to replace an existing pattern. Once youve copied it, you can modify it as much (or as little) as you please.

Note that once a Service has been scheduled, there is always a Time Pattern with the “>>” icon next to it. This marks the boundary between those patterns that have been scheduled and those that haven't. This entry will change as you assign shifts going forward, but it will always be there. It is editable, and can have another pattern “copied over” it, but it cannot be completely removed.
