Cleaning up Telephony Events

Previous   Top Next

Here's a step-by-step guide to a typical session of cleaning up Loose and Invalid Telephony Events:

1) Open a Telephony Events list (Office menu).

2) Filter it by changing status to Loose and Invalid

3) Change the time period to Last Week (or whatever other time period you'd like).

4) Select one from the list.

5a) If the Login or Logout does not relate to a specific Shift, click on Ignore. It will disappear from the list.

5b) If the Login or Logout relates to a specific Shift, click on Link

6) In most cases, a single Shift will be identified. Select it (if there are more than one in the list, select the one you want from the list).

7) Make any adjustments (changing the time of the shift, marking it tardy, marking it Verified, etc.) and click OK. It will disappear from the list.

8) Repeat until the list is empty.

If you find that you have a Login or Logout that has no corresponding Shift, this may indicate a spurious event that should be ignored, or it might be the sign of a previously undocumented Shift that must be added before linking.

Since you can Link Logins and Logouts from either the Shift or the Telephony Event itself, you may also find it handy to have the appropriate Shifts list open while you are doing this process. To do this, simply open Shifts on a Day (Office menu), change it to look only at Assigned Shifts, and to cover the same period as the Telephony Events list.
