Changing the Schedule |
|
|
The simplest way to decide how to change the schedule is to ask the question: "Is this a one-time change or an ongoing change?". One-time changes are usually accomplished by working right from the Planner, adding, removing and altering existing Shifts. Ongoing changes to the schedule are generally done on the Times for Service form. Individual Changes Here are links to the sections that explain how to make specific, one-time changes to the schedule: No Show, Tardy and Did Not Finish Ongoing Changes Changes to the regular schedule on a Service are done on the Times for Service screen. By adding, removing and editing entries in the Times for Service screen, you can control the ongoing pattern of Shifts needed on a Service, as well as the status of a Service on any particular date.
You get to the Times for Service form from the Planner by clicking on the Times button (above the days of the week). On the Service form, the Times button is near the top of the form. In either case, it displays the current Status and/or the Time Pattern that is in effect.

Conflicts with Existing Shifts When you change the ongoing schedule, Rosemark will adjust any existing Open Shifts to match the new pattern. However, it will not assume that Assigned Shifts can be automatically adjusted. Therefore, Rosemark checks to see if you already have already assigned Shifts that represent some sort of conflict with the new pattern. If there are any, it will pop up a list of these shifts and present you with a choice: continue with the change or not.
Figure 81: Warning that there are conflicting Assigned Shifts If you decide NOT to continue with the change, everything will remain the way it was before you started to make the change. If you decide to continue with the change, You will be left with the list of these conflicting Shifts.

On the Planner, you will see the new Open Shifts and you will also see these conflicting Assigned Shifts. Assuming that the Caregiver can work these Shifts, simply remove the Assigned Shifts and assign them to the newly-adjusted Open Shifts. (Note: you could avoid this step by unassigning the Shifts BEFORE adjusting the Time Pattern in the first place).
